General Meeting:
The St Serra Apostolate – Boulder Deanery is a local vocations ministry focused on creating awareness and appreciation for vocations to the priesthood, deaconate and consecrated life. We attend Mass together then meet for one hour, twice a month at various parishes in the Boulder Deanery. Please view our Calendar to learn details of our upcoming meetings and events.
Our Club President is the meeting emcee for our General Meetings which typically feature food, fellowship, prayer, an inspirational Catholic speaker and oftentimes, affirmation event planning for our priests, deacons, seminarians, and altar servers.
Travel Meeting:
Typically, our ‘Travel Meeting’ is held after the 1st Saturday Mass or First Friday Mass at various parishes in the Boulder Deanery. Check our Events Calendar for the current ‘Travel’ meeting information. These meetings are specifically to raise awareness of our Vocations Ministry in each of the parishes in the Boulder Deanery.
Home Meeting:
Our General Meeting is held every month typically on the 3rd Friday of the month following the 7:00 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus, Boulder, CO in Jubilee Hall. SHJ is our ‘base’ parish with Fr Mark Kovacik, Pastor also a spiritual guide as our Club Chaplin.
Meeting Activities:
Members contribute to a continental breakfast available at each meeting. We enjoy fellowship and food and prayer at the opening of each meeting.
One of the most popular meeting activities involves assembly/delivery of our Altar Server Gifts at Easter and Christmas. We also prepare and deliver Holy Thursday gifts for all priests in the Boulder Deanery and Christmas gifts for all Redemptoris Mater Seminarians.
Other meeting activities include coordination of events such as our Clergy Affirmation Dinner, Fall and Lenten Retreats and our Brats&Bingo and Trivia Dinner Gala fundraisers.
Speakers/Presentations:
Many meetings feature an invited speaker, very often our cherished clergy, who addresses our members with personal testimonies, Catholic topics and philosophies and sometimes individual life stories or initiatives which educate, inspire and enrich our Catholic faith; prompting a deeper call to holiness. All members are encouraged to share information about exceptional speakers with the VP Programs who is responsible for presenting and planning the Club Calendar.
Board Meeting:
Board Meetings normally follow the General Meeting and are held at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder in Jubilee Hall. All members are welcome to attend the Board Meetings and are included in discussions of old/new business, committee reporting and efficiency suggestions and, of course, volunteering! Voting privileges are extended only to Club Officers. All club minutes are available to the members as they are posted to the website after being approved by the Board.
